Summer Plein-air Painting Lessons in the Longhouse Gardens with Barbara Thomas

In this five-session workshop, students will explore the extraordinary plant life, scenery, trees, waterways, light and shade of Longhouse Gardens to paint. Students will learn and practice the principals of landscape and nature painting: composition, creating distance, skies, trees, water, mixing the colors of nature, and how to compose a beautiful landscape painting.
Five sessions will allow for lots of painting exploration: flowers, trees, reflection, weather, light. Students can sign up for one or both workshops. Beginner to experienced, students bring own materials. Materials list provided on registration.

Workshop 1: June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Workshop 2: July 7, 14, 21, 28, August 4 $350 for members $375 for non-members
