The Hamptons’ celebrated winery Wölffer Estate Vineyard and culinary sensation Tieghan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest have teamed up for an evening of culinary excellence and exquisite wines that capture the essence of The Hamptons. Summer Harvest: Grilling with Roman Meets Half Baked Harvest will set the stage in Sagaponack at the vineyard on Wednesday, July 24th at 6:30 pm.

We recently sat down with Tieghan Gerard to discuss more about the collaboration with Roman Roth and what culinary techniques and dishes may be showcased at the event.

Could you tell us more about how the collaboration with Wölffer Estate Vineyard came about for the Summer Harvest event?

The collaboration between Wölffer Estate Vineyard and Half Baked Harvest is so special, I’m excited for people to experience it. I’ve always wanted to visit the Hamptons and I’m a huge fan of Wölffer Estate Wines. They have this fantastic series called “Grilling with Roman” and I have so many great ideas for summer harvest recipes. The Hamptons are known for their farmers markets and this felt so fresh and exciting. I know people are going to love what we created.

As someone who is visiting the Hamptons for the first time, what are you most looking forward to about the event and the location?

I’ve seen and heard how fabulous the grounds are at Wölffer Estate Vineyard and I’m really looking forward to experiencing it firsthand. As a mountain girl I love being immersed in nature and the Hamptons has always felt like this hidden gem that not many people get to experience. I’m sure it’s going to live up to the hype.

I’m also super excited to do a book signing and meet & greet at Bookhampton in East Hampton at 1PM on Thursday, July 25th. It’s a Hamptons staple so I’m looking forward to connecting with their community. Bookhampton is located at 41 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11937. 

What inspired you to join forces with Roman Roth for this special installment of “Grilling with Roman”?

Roman is a force in The Hamptons and his series “Grilling With Roman” is a massive hit. I love a good grill so collaborating with him on an unexpected menu was great. It’s fresh and scrumptious. We are sourcing ingredients locally, which is always important to me and adds something special every time. 

Wölffer Estate Vineyard is known for its sustainable practices. How important is sustainability in your own culinary practices and recipes?

Sustainability is a major factor in my cooking and creative process. From sourcing local ingredients and supporting small farmers, to more habit-forming practices like meatless Mondays, it’s really important for me to take a sustainable approach.

Can you talk about any specific culinary techniques or styles you’ll be showcasing during the event?

Come ready for an experience and delicious meal paired with the most incredible wines. I think the pairings will really take it over the top. We’re taking grilling to the next level.

Can you share any behind-the-scenes moments or stories from the preparation of this event?

My favorite thing during this process has been researching all of the amazing things going on in The Hamptons this summer. I have an entire list of places I want to visit, my first stop is Wöllfer of course! I’m looking forward to the Mytheresa and Flamingo Estate Pop Up, Chanel Hamptons Pop Up and Le Bilboquet in Sag Harbor to name a few.

Your new book, Quick & Cozy, is set to debut in November. Congratulations! How does the theme of this book align with or differ from the farm-to-table experience you’re creating at the event?

I’m so excited for the release of my fourth book Quick & Cozy. I can’t believe it’s already #3 for presales on all of Amazon, it comes out in November! Quick & Cozy is about exactly what it sounds like, a delicious comfort food meal you can make quickly. The Summer Harvest: Grilling with Roman x Half Baked Harvest is going to delight your senses. It’s summer personified with an unexpected and elevated twist with the most incredible wine pairings we could dream up.

What are your future plans for Half Baked Harvest, and can we expect more collaborations like this one with Wölffer Estate Vineyard?

I have so many exciting plans for Half Baked Harvest. I’ve had so much incredible feedback from my first three books and I can’t wait for the world to experience Quick & Cozy. I love to collaborate with like-minded brands and bring my audience new and different ways to experience great food. We have a few things we’re cooking up!
