Annual Race of Hope + 5K Run to Defeat Depression

Get your best running shoes and join the Annual Race of Hope + 5K Run to Defeat Depression. The Southampton event raises awareness and proceeds for depression research. Expect to run at least 5k, and don’t be discouraged if you’re not a pro. This event is open to everyone at every skill level.

During the Week, stores throughout Southampton display a large, yellow flag in front of their doors, transforming sidewalks into a sea of sunshine to symbolize their commitment to advancing the conversation about mental health.

Over 100 businesses are part of the Week of Hope, including Jennifer Miller Jewelry, Johnny Was, Paul Stuart, Ralph Lauren and Veronica Beard, a major HDRF sponsor.

Annual Authors Night

If you’re a fan of author Neil deGrasse Tyson or Robert A. Caro, you must look into this literary fundraising event. At East Hampton Library’s Annual Authors Night, you’ll have the opportunity to mingle with 100 authors during a lively book signing cocktail reception and if you choose, opt for a higher level ticket which includes dinner afterwards at a private home with one or more of the featured authors. It’s an excellent opportunity to chat up some of your favorite writers.

Cocktails to Save the Bays

As you know, our oceans and bays are in danger due to climate shifts and human pollution. That’s why this cocktail gala event on August 16 in Southampton is significant. Donations and sponsorships will support preserving and restoring the waters we sometimes forget to maintain.

2024 Bow Wow Meow Ball

If you’re considering how best to support our furry best friends, check out the 2024 Bow Wow Meow Ball on August 17, an evening of dinner and dancing to celebrate 50 years of rescue.

This elegant evening event will be held at the ARF’s William P. Rayner Training Center and honor ARF’s founder and the Chantecaille Family. Ticket and table sales will go back to the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF), supporting their efforts in rescue medical care, shelter, and much more for our area’s cats and dogs.

Artists + Writers Annual Charity Softball Game

Watch a celebrity-filled baseball game and do well while you’re at it. The 76th East Hampton Artists & Writers Charity Softball Game will be held at Herrick Park on August 17 this year. You’ll support charities like East End Hospice, The Retreat, Eleanor Whitmore Early Childcare Center, and more by joining.

Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show

The Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show is back, a multi-day event starting on August 25. Tickets range in price and availability, but you’ll be able to see jumping, showing, and a whole bunch of other equestrian-related activities. This is a perfect event to see more of the culture in the Hamptons, and it’s excellent for all age levels. There’s also tons of shopping happening on different days. It’s a well-rounded event catering to the Hamptons local equestrian community.

Silent Disco Dance Party

Close out the summer in a quiet way at the Guild Hall’s Furman Garden. Tickets are only $15 ($13 for members), and you’ll get to bop to different tunes from the 70s,80s, 90s, and 2000s. It’s a fun way to party since you can alternate between different music sets while being extremely silent. It might be awkward initially, but spending the night dancing to your favorite tunes in a garden can be mesmerizing.

78th Annual Shinnecock Indian Nation

Attend the 78th Annual Shinnecock Indian Nation powwow on August 30 in Southampton. It’s the perfect cultural event to celebrate the indigenous communities in the area. General admission tickets are $23.18 and include parking. Close out the summer by learning what a powwow is and how it is a sacred event that should be preserved and cherished, just like other American holidays and events.
