Join us for a special reception celebrating the Southampton History Museum’s exhibit Homefront to Battlefront: Southampton during WWII on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 6:15 PM. This event honors the numerous local individuals who played a vital role in World War II—both on the Homefront and the battlefield. Enjoy a unique opportunity to connect with history as World War II reenactors from the Long Island Living History Association bring the era to life with a display showcasing period gear and memorabilia. Light refreshments will be served as you explore the stories of local heroes who sacrificed and persevered during one of history’s most challenging times.
Admission is free and open to the public—we invite the entire community to join us in honoring these remarkable individuals and their legacy. The Southampton History Museum is especially grateful to the Village of Southampton, the Village Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events (aka Combined Veterans Organization), and the Southampton Cultural Center for making this pop-up exhibition and reception possible during the restoration of Rogers Mansion.
The Southampton History Museum’s free public programs are made possible, in part, by a Suffolk County Omnibus Grant and by funding from the residents of the Southampton Union Free School District. Thanks to the generous support of our community, admission to all of the museum’s historic sites and exhibitions is also free to the public.
