Jamesport Meeting House will host The Mudflats String Band in-concert on Saturday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. Inspired by America’s rich heritage of traditional music called Americana, the Mudflats infuse old time roots with dynamic energy reimagined for today. These trailblazing North Fork musicians add electric fiddle improvisation and rich acoustic vocals to the mix of traditional fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass and drums. They deliver an original sound where tradition meets innovation, with pulsing grooves of timeless foot-stomping tunes, versatile arrangements and songs that touch the heart.
Tickets to the Mudflats are only $20 and may be purchased in advance through the Jamesport Meeting House website at: www.jamesportmeetinghouse.org. Advance purchase is recommended. The Jamesport Meeting House, erected in 1731, is the oldest public structure on the East End of Long Island. The Meeting House is prized for its superb acoustics as well as its historic significance.
