Stephen Scarnato, the only winemaker on the East Coast who personally oversees every aspect of vineyard planning, planting, and production for private homeowners, is hosting a capstone event at one of his client’s private vineyards on the North Fork. Along with his wife, Sarah, he leads New Roots Wine Club—an education-first community dedicated to sustainable, limited-intervention winemaking.
Join New Roots Wine Club’s spring event to learn, taste, and enjoy the vineyard during this vibrant phase of the growing season. Guests will take part in a hands-on vineyard demonstration covering shoot selection, de-suckering, and the positioning of fruit flowers—the early steps in growing this year’s grapes. The event also features an introduction to grapevine identification (ampelography) and a discussion on how temperature impacts the winemaking process. Attendees will enjoy tastings of the 2024 White Blend and the new experimental 2024 Regent, paired with seasonal hors d’oeuvres.
