William Davies, his wife Florence, and their 13 children acquired 33 acres of land surrounding Snug Cove that later became known as Davies Heritage Orchard. By visiting here, you’ll be able to get a feel of the rich history of Bowen Island along with viewing artifacts from the 1920s steamships. Bowen Heritage has done an amazing job of preserving and restoring the properties on the orchard for those to visit and admire.
Bowen Island Museum and Archives
The Bowen Island Museum and Archives’Â goal is to preserve the history of Bowen Island and provide historical information to anyone interested. In 1937, a group of people were each given a district to gather information about the primary years. There are two buildings to visit that include museum displays and an archival collection of the island.
