In the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, a slice of the South of France finds its home at Pâtisserie Vanessa. Magali Vanessa Silengo, the visionary entrepreneur and pastry chef, has transformed her decade-long dream into reality with the unveiling of Pâtisserie Vanessa that evokes a culmination of Provencal charm and artisanal elegance.
Situated in a landmark terracotta brick building at 89th Street and Lexington Avenue, Pâtisserie Vanessa’s flagship boasts an elegant yet welcoming interior. Inspired by Vanessa and Marc’s early years in Marseille, the space features clean white lines, terracotta neutral tones, and floor-to-ceiling windows that create an inviting ambiance.
A Journey from Kitchen to Flagship
Pâtisserie Vanessa’s story began over ten years ago in a commercial kitchen. At that time, Magali crafted and delivered her signature French pastries to specialty stores and select coffee shops. Now, with the successful launch of her flagship location, she is ready to introduce the essence of Provence to a broader audience.
Provencal Elegance Meets New York Chic
The aesthetic of Pâtisserie Vanessa is a harmonious blend of old-world Provencal charm and the artisanal pop of Marseille. Owned by the dynamic couple, Vanessa and Co-Owner Marc-Antoine Silengo, the patisserie reflects their dual experiences—from childhood in the South of France to adult life raising a family in New York. The result is a classically modern space that captures the innocent playfulness and grown-up elegance embodied in Vanessa’s pastry creations.
Je Ne Sais Quoi in the Air
Step into Pâtisserie Vanessa, and you’ll be greeted by a certain “Je Ne Sais Quoi” in the air, accompanied by the irresistible aroma of fresh pastries baking behind the “Atelier D’Artiste” window. Born and raised in Provence, Vanessa’s culinary journey took her from self-taught pastry enthusiast to a trained chef under the guidance of Chef Anna Notari in Aix-en-Provence.
Unique Delicacies and Stylish Gift Boxes
Guests are invited to indulge in Vanessa’s signature pastries, each crafted with natural ingredients, offering a pure taste that’s not too sweet but just right. The menu features pastries such as La Charlotte Vanessa, La Tropézienne Vanessa, Le Canelé Vanessa, and Le Macaron Vanessa. Selections for younger guests include L’Ourson Vanessa and Le Cookie Deux Chocolats Vanessa.
The pastry gift boxes, adorned with Provencal-inspired designs, provide a unique gifting experience that can be shipped nationwide. Pick-up and delivery in NYC is also available (minimum $15 order).
Pâtisserie Vanessa’s menu also includes gluten-free and vegan options as well as a selection of coffee and tea beverages.
