Discreetly located inside the ground floor of the Randolph House in NYC‘s Midtown East on 50th Street close to Lexington Avenue, Chef Guo opened the doors to his fine dining Chinese restaurant in August of 2022. Ever since, Chef Guo Wenjun has been enchanting his guests with a one-of-a-kind dining experience with masterfully created Chinese dishes that ingeniously intertwine Chinese Imperial and classic Western cuisine. Each course is an imaginative work of art that tastes just as delicious as its innovative presentation.
This unparalleled Chinese fine dining experience is accompanied by white glove service within an imperial courtyard, set beneath the branches of a faux ginkgo tree that Chef Guo created himself, adorned with warm glowing lanterns. The ginkgo tree is one of the oldest trees in the world and is also the national tree of China.
The dining room accommodates just ten guests for each seating. Each server, dressed in a traditional red robe, takes their time to carefully explain each dish, its ingredients, and the story behind its invention, creating the atmosphere of a private dinner party.
Yellow domed food plates are at each place setting. Historically in China, the color yellow is exclusively reserved for the emperor.
Dining at Chef Guo
The 10-course menu is the newest fine dining experience at Chef Guo. The restaurant originally opened with their exclusive 19-course fine dining menu.
The 10-course menu is inspired by its featured entrée, Eternal Bliss of QianKun Pot, which originated from Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di who moved the Capital to Beijing. Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di regarded Beijing as the Land of Dragon Rising and the center of the world. To celebrate the grand event, he ordered the imperial chefs to gather the best ingredients and serve them in a handmade Cloisonne Pot from the Jingtai era.
- Appetizer Platter
- Roasted Peking Duck with Foie Gras Cherry
- Creamy Golden Pea Soup with Black Truffle
- Gung Bao Premium Lobster Tail
- Bi Feng Tang Sea Bass
- Fragrant Stuffed Morel Mushrooms
- Eternal Bliss of QianKun Pot, served in a handmade Cloisonne pot
- Wild Green Stir Fried Rice
- Honey Glazed Golden Nest Ba Bao Sweet Rice Pudding
- Assorted Fruit
A seven-course wine pairing is available to accompany the 10-course menu.
