Juniper at The Vanderbilt in Westbury is celebrating its second year, delighting customers with a sustainable menu that highlights the farms, food, and wine of New York and Long Island. As Civetta Hospitality Group’s newest concept, the American restaurant offers an extensive raw bar as well as grilled steaks, vegetables, and seafood for brunch and dinner.
Located inside Long Island’s first luxury hotel and residences, Juniper at The Vanderbilt’s kitchen is led by Executive Chef Fernando Cepada. He brings his culinary talent from previous ventures at Veritas under Chef Sam Hazen, Thomas Preti Caterers, and many top NYC kitchens.Â
The Menu
Juniper’s signature dinner dishes include Baked Bluepoint Grilled Oysters with Prosciutto, Ribeye for Two with Bone Marrow, and Duck with Juniper oil from Joe Jurgielewicz & Sons Duck. A top choice is the Double Smashed Burger with Shelburne Cheddar, Arugula, and a Fried Egg.
For brunch, notable selections include Shrimp and Stone Ground Grits, Shakshuka, Wild Mushroom Toast, and Fried Chicken and Waffles (pictured above).
For dessert, select from choices like a Vanilla Ice Cream Sundae with a chocolate gluten-free brownie, Tahitian Vanilla Cheesecake with poached rhubarb, and others.
All dishes change seasonally with help from local farming partners.
Cocktails
Juniper’s beverage program includes a seasonal cocktail menu created by partner Tanya Saxena. A must-sip is the New York Sour: Russell’s Reserve 10 Year, Lemon, Egg White, and Bitters.
Juniper highlights cocktails from small batch gins from artisanal producers around New York. Gin cocktails include the Empress with lavender and honey; Plymouth with Aperol, Beets, Tonic; and Brooklyn with Grapefruit, Rockey’s, and Tonic.Â
Private Events
Juniper is available for private events for groups between 10-100. Ideal for many different types of events from rehearsal dinners to birthday celebrations, the restaurant has four distinct private event spaces including an outdoor private event space.
Hours & Additional Information
Juniper at The Vanderbilt is open for dinner seven days a week and brunch on the weekends. Dinner is served from 5-10pm, and brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am-3pm. Happy Hour is served Tuesday-Thursday from 5-8pm at the bar.
