After several venue changes, the beloved Riverhead Farmer’s Market is getting a permanent residence on Main Road at the gateway to the North Fork. East End Food Institute, which took over management of the market in 2019, opened their new location at the old Homestead Florist building on Main Road in Riverhead. The Riverhead Indoor Farmer’s Market was originally launched in February of 2014.

This sprawling, 5000 square foot building has space for up to 45 vendors. It also allows for on-site storage and a more permanent set-up. The building also has a large, dedicated parking lot.

The new market boasts a greater emphasis on local farm and seafood products. There will also be occasional live music and the potential for more entertainment and events.

The East End Food Market has a rotating nonprofit booth. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, for example, is one of the rotating local nonprofit organizations that attends the Market once per month.

The market has also partnered with Long Island Wine Country. They host rotating wineries each week with tastings available.
