Se Spa

Se Spa at Grand Velas Riviera Maya is one of if not the best spa in Mexico. As the winner of Virtuoso’s Best Spa, it is 90,000+ square feet wellness space inspired by the famed cenotes (water holes) in Mexico. Se Spa features an eight-part water journey and Mayan inspired treatments including “gourmet varieties”.

Examples of these treatments are the Xkalim Gourd Massage, Organic Kaab Honey Spa Experience, Uumbal Shawl Massage, and Bacal Massage. The Bacal Massage, for example, begins with a dry corn and honey exfoliation to detoxify your skin. The experience is followed by an essential oil massage in which pressure is applied with corn cobs for a unique sensation of wellbeing. Corn was considered a sacred plant in the Mayan culture.

Local Yucatecan honey has recently been incorporated into the spa as well as culinary offerings at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. The honey is produced by the western honeybee that found only in the Yucatan Peninsula.

The honey is used in the 80-min Organic Kaab Honey Experience. The treatment starts with a relaxing face and body massage. Next, guests indulge in a bath then are given a balm made with Mayan vanilla to seal the skin.

CBD massages are also available.

Prior to any treatment of 50 minutes or more, Grand Velas guests can experience the spa’s renowned Hydrotherapy Journey. The water journey consists of seven-steps and features eucalyptus-scented steam room with chromotherapy, polar pool, aromatherapy sensory shower, sauna, Jacuzzi and multi-sensory pool.

The central pool features several hydro elements like powerful massaging faucets for the neck and back and bubble beds.
