New UK Boutique Resorts to Stay at in 2022

Reawaken your wanderlust for 2022. Below, we highlight five new boutique hotels to stay at across the UK from London to the Scottish Highlands. This list also includes a hotel concept being introduced to the UK for the first time.

The UK’s first art’otel is set to open at Battersea Power Station in late summer of 2022. The collection already has five hotels in some of Europe’s most cultural cities. Cities include Budapest, Berlin, and Amsterdam. Each art’otel partners with a ‘signature artist’ to design the hotel.

The premium lifestyle hotel will have 164 guest rooms, top-class restaurants and bars, show-stopping skyline floors, and an iconic infinity pool that overlooks the chimneys of the Grade II* listed Battersea Power Station.

Battersea Power Station is being transformed into a new riverside neighborhood. The recent extension of the Northern Line makes journey times to the West End and the City approximately 15 minutes.

The Bradley Hare

The Bradley Hare opened in Wiltshire in June of 2021. Located on the Duke of Somerset’s Estate in the beautiful village of Maiden Bradley, The Bradley Hare has twelve bedrooms.

The inn offers delicious dishes using the best local and seasonal produce and all year round al-fresco dining in glorious private gardens, surrounded by fresh fruit and vegetable patches. Each bedroom is unique with 18th & 19th century antique furniture and includes distinctive fabrics repurposed and used for the headboards.

For those looking for a wellness escape, The Potting Shed is nestled within the walls of Bradley Park. The Potting Shed offers guests treatments that are all vegan, cruelty free and eco-friendly, as well as holistic therapies in picturesque walled garden surroundings. Evolve Beauty products are handmade in small batches at their studio in Hertfordshire, England.

Newhall Mains

Newhall Mains in the Highlands opened in the spring of 2021 on Scotland’s Black Isle peninsula. Guests can even arrive to the hotel in style via its own private airstrip or enjoy tailor-made scenic flights over the Highlands or Sutherland Coast.

The elegant 18th century former farm buildings are the only luxury holiday rental accommodation in the UK to have a private airfield. Situated close to the North Coast 500, Scotland’s answer to Route 66, the hotel is located a half hour from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. The North Coast 500 is the perfect base from which to discover Cromarty Firth. Cromarty Firth is Britain’s best location for viewing bottlenose dolphins.

New Hall Mains offers five individually themed cottages and four double suites featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and bespoke furnishings.

Newhall Mains’s amenities include underfloor heating, a luxury food delivery service, Tesla charging points, fully equipped kitchens, and a massive fire pit. There is also no minimum stay and no deposit on booking.

The Retreat at Elcot Park

The Retreat at Elcot Park will debut in the spring of 2022. This follows the successful launch of The Mitre in Hampton Court.

The Retreat offer 55 individually styled bedrooms, combining quirky British sensibility, blending the old with the new. The property will offer stunning views of the Kennet Valley, and is in close proximity to various famous sites including the Downton Abbey Highclere Castle and Newbury racecourse.

This new UK hotel will be home to two restaurants, a pan-Asian restaurant and all-day dining Brasserie. Additional food concepts will include Polly the vintage food truck, Whispering Angel outdoor bar, and much more.

The Retreat will also include six eco lodge residences, an outdoor infinity pool, tennis courts, croquet lawn and walled garden, landscaped gardens and woodland walks.

The resort experience will also include ‘The Courtyard’. The Courtyard will consist of several concepts ranging from a bakery, coffee shop, hair and nail salon, wine store, and monthly farmers’ market.

The boutique hotel will also boast a luxurious spa and Health Club inclusive of hydrotherapy pools, treatment rooms, steam room, sauna, and kids’ club.

room2 Chiswick Hometel

Hometel brand, room2 Chiswick, opened December 1, 2021, and marks the world’s first fully net zero whole-life hotel. Located in West London, the characterful green retreat, inspired by the spirit of Chiswick’s 19th century arts and crafts heritage, offers a relaxed combination of home and hotel whilst encouraging guests to embrace a sustainable lifestyle.

It is the first hotel in the world to fully account for its entire carbon footprint. The hotel is home to 86 bespoke rooms. The bespoke furniture inside each room was made with Forest Stewardship Council timber and manufactured within 10 miles of the property.
