Nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s West Village, AnnTremet Cake is a quaint bakery and dessert shop that specializes in artisanal mousse cakes, petite desserts and cookies, custom-made cakes, and sit-down afternoon tea experiences. In fact, the name AnnTremet is derived from the French word ‘entremet’, a mirror glaze cake. This name symbolizes the union of French artistry with the bakery’s unique flair.
AnnTremet was born from the passion and innovation of two culinary enthusiasts, with the flagship store celebrating their grand opening in May of 2022. Born in Beijing, China Annabelle Li attended university in the U.S. where she eventually met her husband, Peixin. It was here that the husband-and-wife duo experimented with the intricate mirror glaze technique before opening their shop together. The cakes at AnnTremet are innovative, delicate, and not overly sweet. As a matter of fact, the bakery items contain less sugar compared to the average American bakery! Each treat, from their signature Bunny Cheesecake to the Yuzu Matcha glazed cake, evokes luscious and subtle flavors that bakery enthusiasts crave.
AnnTremet’s Afternoon Tea
AnnTremet hosts a rotating theme of afternoon tea experiences throughout the year. The most recent theme Afternoon Tea was a nod to the holidays, available during the months of November and December. Upcoming themed afternoon teas include Valentine’s Day and Easter.
Afternoon tea includes a selection of savory cakes; mini sandwiches like Salmon & Dill and Canadian Ham & Gouda Cheese; scones; and cookies paired with a selection of teas or AnnTremet’s Signature Hot Chocolate.
Online Store and Custom Cakes
AnnTremet can create custom cakes for any type of celebration. It is recommended that cakes are ordered at least two days in advance. Examples of available cakes on their website include Black Sesame, Naked Flower, Vegan Chocolate Raspberry, and Diamond Heart.
Same day cakes are also available to order, including Banana Chocolate Caramel and Drenched in Chocolate.
Hours and Additional Information
AnnTremet is currently open Tuesday-Sunday beginning at 10am. Afternoon Tea is served Tuesday-Thursday 11:30am-4:30pm, Friday and Saturday 11:30am-5pm, and Sunday 11:30am-4pm.
