Memorial Day Weekend is about to arrive. This famous weekend in the Hamptons usually revolves around celebrating the beginning of the season with galas, backyard dinner parties, and day trips to the beach. However, for now due to COVID-19, we must continue to socially distance ourselves and celebrate with safety in mind.
Below we highlight some of the best restaurants in the Hamptons from Southampton and out to Montauk that have reopened for the Hamptons summer season.
This summertime mainstay is open for the season. On the menu is Tuna Tartare, Shrimp Tacos, the longtime favorite Lobster Rigatoni, Sesame Crusted Tuna, and the Vegan No Pasta Lasagna.
Dinner will be served beginning at 5:30pm. Due to reduced seating & COVID restrictions, the Beacon will once again be accepting reservations, available thru the restaurant & RESY.
The Clam Bar
The Clam Bar is serving up its popular seafood, and more, seven days a week beginning at 11:30am.
Takeout and table service is available, and the counter will be used for takeout only.
Menu items include the Grilled Tuna Sandwich, Tuna Bites, Clam Strips, Steamers, the Lobster BLT, and one of our favorite Lobster Salad Rolls, among others. Beer and wine is also available.

Claude’s at Southampton Inn
Claude’s Restaurant has reopened for the Hamptons summer season. The restaurant’s signature offering is the Great American Picnic. These picnic baskets will be filled with individually wrapped sandwiches, salads, home made cookies and brownies, whole fruits, bagged chips, and bottled beverages.
At the restaurant, tables will be covered with paper. The tables are at least 6 feet apart and spread throughout the cafe, the ballroom, the beautifully planted outdoor courtyard, the pool patio, and on several acres of lawns. Hours are 7-11am for their classic Claude’s carry-out breakfast, and 12-7pm for our All American Picnic or carry-out lunch. Duryea’s will be open Monday and Thursday from 12-10pm, and Friday through Sunday 11am to 10pm; closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Following Memorial Day, Duryea’s and its market will be open seven days a week.
Menu highlights for the 2021 season include: raw bar selections such as Montauk pearl oysters, Snow crab claw and Lazy Point oysters; New England clam chowder, tuna tartare, Duryea’s lobster cobb salad, Duryea’s lobster roll, Mussels marinére, Grilled swordfish, roasted chicken with arugula, cherry tomatoes, balsamic glaze and parmesan and grilled octopus with olives and green romesco.
Most items on the menu are served family style to be shared. Patrons must order and pay at the cashier window and food will be delivered to table. A wine and beer list will be offered.

Open for lunch and dinner to go, Hooked has a variety of seafood, salads, and more on their menu, including some great healthy options. Favorite healthy options, for instance, are the Beet & Baby Arugula Salad and the Hooked House Salad made with kale, quinoa, and orange segments.
Seafood favorites include the Tom Lob, a vine ripened tomato stuffed with lobster salad, the Tuna Poke Bowl, and of course locally dug Montauk Pearl Oysters. Gluten free menu items include Fish Tacos, the Tom Lob, and Manhattan Clam Chowder, to name a few.
Hooked is open Wednesday-Monday from 12-7pm, closed Tuesdays. 631-668-2111
La Fondita is open for the season seven days a week. The restaurant serves traditional Mexican food. Customer favorites include the Summer Style Burrito de Camarones, Carnitas Tacos, Taco de Pescado, and Carne Asada.

The Lobster Roll aka LUNCH
The Lobster Roll, also known as Lunch, opened for its 55th season on Friday, May 15th. Open for lunch and dinner from 11am-7pm, The Lobster Roll is famous of course for their classic Lobster Salad Roll served with their creamy coleslaw. A mini option is their Lobster Salad Slider. An excellent way to start a meal is with their homemade Creamy New England Clam Chowder.
For ‘dessert lovers only’, irresistible choices include their homemade pies and Andrea’s cupcakes. Favorites include the “Lunch” Cupcake, a vanilla cupcake topped with Andrea’s homemade buttercream frosting and decorated with a gummy lobster, perfect for celebrating the start of the Hamptons summer season.
